Joshua 1:16
Then they answered Joshua saying, “Whatever you command us we will do and wherever you send us, we will go.”
In Exodus 6-12, when God told Moses that he was to speak and perform miracles in front of the Pharaoh, Moses said he couldn’t speak that well. So God went and asked Moses’ brother Aaron to speak for him. And even after all the miracles and plagues, the Pharaoh did not let them leave Egypt. But Moses and Aaron still did not give up because it was what God commanded them to do.
At the time of his death, Moses passed along his command to Joshua. Joshua seemed to take his command very seriously, even in the family. Joshua 24:15 says, "But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord."
Joshua was a good example to all of the people. In Joshua 24:31, Scripture says that
Israel served the Lord all of the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had known all of the works of the Lord which he had done for Israel.
